  • Tranny fluid level, do I check it in D or P?

I think my tranny fluid may be too full. I've been checking it in Park, with the engine running and it's a little above the HOT mark on the dipstick. Does anyone know for sure if the 3.8 should be checked in drive or in Park? I know some engines require the tranny to be in D to get an accurate fluid level...

Let the car warm up, engage the E-brake, shift from park all the way down to 1st, then back to Park. Leave it in each gear a couple of seconds as you shift. Check the fluid level once the car is back in Park.
