  • What is needed for a rear end swap

I currently have a '96 Bird with 3.08 gears and drum brakes. I am getting a rear out of a '01 bird with 3.42 gears and disc brakes. I know for the brakes all I'll have to do is get a longer Ebrake cable. I will be draining the fluid, putting in synthetic, getting new brake pads for the rear. But for the rear end and changing the gears what will I need. Such as a computer reprogrammer or have my PCM reprogrammed locally, speedo calibrator etc.. I want to make sure the rear runs flawlessly after I put it in. But I need to know the addition cost associated with the doing this swap. Or if there is something I've overlooked.
