Does anybody else have trouble shifting gears on our T5 manual trans when the car is warming up after starting? Seems especially bad on cold mornings, especially shifting from 1st to 2nd, real notchy. It's like the clutch isn't in all the way or something. When the car warms up or it's a warm day, shifting is as smooth as can be. Normal?

Yes, On cold nights/mornings, I found that sometimes the 1-2 shift would be harder then normal, sometimes even grind a bit. Its the same thing for me on the 4-5 Shift, if my RPMS are high, and I just slam it in, I'll get a hard or grinding shift.
I just got in the habit of double clutching the 4-5 shift, and on cold days the 1-2 shift until it warms up.1997 Cayenne Red Metallic Camaro
3.8 V6 M5
SLP Cold Air Intake
Ceramic Coated Pacesetter Headers
Flowmaster American Thunder Catback
Full 3.42 & Disc Break Rear End Swap

Same problem here, and it only got worse when I replaced the stock shifter a couple of weeks ago. Never had it grind into gear, but it's sticky coming out of first ... double clutching alleviates it but I don't know why it does it or how to fix. Wonder if a shift improver kit would help?2002 Firebird
Mods: Whisper CAI and Lid, K&N, Edelbrock Cat-Back, Hurst Billet Plus Shifter w/Lou\'s Short Stick, BMR STB, 32mm front sway bar w/polygraphite bushings and end links, PHB polygraphite bushings, HPP3 tuned

mine was like that til I swapped fluid. Stock mine shipped 1 quart Low!! I drained and filled with ATF Durablend and I've never had a single shifting problem since.

The whole shabang. I'll tell ya if changing the Tranny fluid fixes it.

Just one thing...if you have a manual transmission, there is no such thing as a shift improver kit. SHift kits are for automatic transmissions, they increase fluid flow and line pressure for firmer shifts.1979 Z28 Camaro, 1 of 10,000 Factory 4 speeds.
1994 Camaro Sport Coupe, M5
Best ET: 15.31@91.5 (25 hp NOS)
