GEARS (someone sticky this beast)

So people can get an idea of what to expect with certain gears ratios we should make a sticky with the 3krpm speed of each gear and a redline speed of each gear for both the a4 and m5. I'll do it if you want. The reason for the 3krpm thing is because that is around the average as far as shift points are concerned for regular driving.

In 4th gear at 6000 rpms on the dyno I hit 137 mph, next time I go I'll see if they will let me max it out in 5th gear to see what the top speed is.

any way u could post some acceleration times for the differnt gear ratios, it doesnt need to be exact just a rough estimate

if you could i think it would help alot of people including me

There is no way to do this, because acceleration has too many factors. Pretty much every single car on this site will be different.

Just know that the numerically higher gears (like 3.73s and 4.10s) will accelerate much faster than lower gears (like 3.08s and 3.23s).
