Last nite i started my car backed out of the driveway then put it into first......tried to start going then.....boom......my tranny kicked my shifter out of first....is that a synchro??....scared the crap out of me and i put her right back into the garage....is this fixable? if so how many limbs am i gonna have to give up

If it still drives I wouldn't worry about it, its a stick things like that happen my grandpa had a 55 belair, would pop out of gear back in the early 70s starting to need a rebuild now but still is the orginal tranny only thing ever done was a fluid change, mine will pop out of 2nd alot, if you have an aftermarket shifter adjust the stops if not don't worry to much about it, it should be fine.

Ive done this a few times, a couple times at stop lights i wasnt paying attention and the light turned... so i tried to throw it in 1st real quick, slammed on the gas, and BAM, it dropped out, i thought soembody had hit me.. 2nd is wicked too, it just pops out if you dont put it in gear all the way, then again i run the pro 5.0, so if you get lazy about puttign it in gear thats what happens. I thought i broke something the other night, but shifts fine.....so i kept rippign on it.
