you are going all out to the extreme for times I'd say built auto.

but if it was me, i'd go for the 5-speed.

Personally id go built auto. When I worked at my local tranny shop my boss who had been doing trannys for 20 years said you can build an automatic to shift gears faster than any person could with a conventional 5 speed.

EDIT: I forgot to mention. There is one problem with 4L60E's if thats what you go with. Gear ratios in them suck from 1st to 2nd. 4l60E's are 1st 3.06/ 2nd 1.67/ 3rd 1.00/ 4th .70. So as you can see there is a large difference in ratios from first to second. Im also not positive on those numbers except for 3rd and 4th but I know 1st and 2nd are in that ballpark.

Auto would be better for boost, they throttle blade never closes. You dont have to rebuild boost on shifts.

werd. That's the way to go. Custom built 700R4/4L60 with a large by huge stall. That way you can still let the trans shift itself when you want (you'll just have to rig up a TV cable somehow) and you can shift it when you want to.

same thing as a 4l60E just it doesn't have electronic controls and I believe there are different gear ratios.

No. The only electrical part of the 700R4/4L60 is the lockup solenoid, and you can buy a wiring kit for that.
