  • How much metal in the rear-end is normal?...differential

    changed my diff fluid not to long ago and was just wondering how much little metal shards stuck to the magnet is normal?....there wasnt too much...but I mean it only had 25000 on it when I changed it....whatcha think?

    in a perfect world there should be none. howver when i changed mine after i installed the LSD it was about 10,000 miles it had some metal shavings on the magnet. nothing major but still had some in it. i wouldnt worry

      Hrmm...i didn't even look when i installed my LSD last weekend. I guess it wasn't too much though, or i would have noticed. [img]smile.gif[/img]

      My car is at 97k miles also.

        when I changed my fluid at 45k I didn't notice any.... but maybe I wasn't looking hard enough either.. dunno..
