Dig up old threads much?? That being said, I have had 3.23's, 3.42's and now 3.73's. 3.73's are more fun, pull HARD on the low end, and I have had no top end loss:)

Do you even know what is envloved in switching gears? Not exactly something you just do at a track because some guy on the internet is going to give you 20 bucks.

You can lose top speed with less gear (3.42, 3.73, 4.10, 4.56)

You can gain top speed with 2.73, 3.08, 3.23

The more gear you have to pull through the slower your car will accellerate.

4.10 is considered a smaller gear than 2.73.
4.10 has less teeth.

This is basic physics.

Why cant I spin my tries in 5th gear going 20 mph?
Obvious reasons, the gear is too big and I dont have enough power to push it. That is why they have first gear, second gear third gear, forth gear, fith gear, sixth gear and final gear. So you can accellerate quickly without having to make 600 horsepower.

hm.. i doubt the only reason for someone to switch gears at the track is because of 20 dollars from someone on the internet.. the purpose would be to settle the argument between the better of gearing for our cars, and thus.. get 20 dollar in the meantime

Have you ever swapped gears before?? It's barely worth doing for $100 or more, much less $20.

I had 4.10s on a completely stock car and they were fine. Ran 15.0 on a hot day with no tuning and street tires.
