amI wrong to go with a spec 4?

not looking to boost, juice, or even cam my car...


but I do run quicker times then most, and love to wear out clutches.


SPec stage 1 $296.10

I have heard problems with spec 3s and spring failure, and 1 & 2s have similar designs.

Will it be too unstreetable to any normal person? Will it be impossible to sell this car with it?

I had alot of chatter with my stage 2. Either it has went away or I have got more use to driving with it going forward but reverse is another story. I stil get plenty of chatter in reverse unless I give it just the right amount of gas and clutch engagement.

ill' sell you my stage 5 for 200 only 3000 miles on it and not even 500 miles on boost... 1 track run on it.....

Agreed somewhat... only reason I brought it up was because. well I tear through clutches pretty well.

and there is a cost difference of $27 between a spec stage 2 and a stage 4.

I am looking to be running high 13s on my setup. Which I think may be a bit much for the clutch. And a clutch is a sort of thing I just want to do once because of the cost and work required to do it.

Spec 1-3 has the spring design which has failed on more then one v6er, while stage 4 doesn't.

go with 3 i got a 2 and am light on mods and cant get clutch to slip. just remember 500 miles of break in driving which is city. no gunning it.

I run a stage 2, no chatter, its wonderful. She chirps second, unlike stock, and engagement is smoother and easier than it was stock to boot!

My stock clutch chirps second everytime (even when I'm not trying sometimes;)) Eric, I think you'll wear out a stage 4... I don't think your clutch problem is a design flaw, I just think it's your crazy driving habits. You don't have to power shift on your way to work...

I know its related to my driving styles... I have definitley though just going with a stock replacement, but I would be pissed if I put one in and it slipped at the track.

I know I don't make lots of hp and such... but still. My car runs mid 14s, and I plan to hit high 13s, got a few more mods on the car. Its a full weight, roughly 3500-3600 lbs car running low 14s-high 13s


PS as for my car I don't really run it too hard on the streets drivetrain wise, I acutally kind of baby it, don't want to pay for new tranny.


BTW I think there is a good chance its my slave thats bad. But if I have it out want it all repalced.

also.. stages have nothing to do with longevity of the clutch.

and without a power adder.. u will not be happy with a stage 4.

Im kinda somewhat regretting the fact i didnt stick to stage 2.
