yeah i just wanted teh chrome cover since my cover right now is all rusty and looks like crap. Do i have to tune my computer if i get 3.42s? theres no tuners for my car besides a jet chip....and whats an lsd?

limited slip differential (posi traction) makes 2 rear wheels spin instead of 1 (open differential).
you dont have to tune, but your mileage and speedo will be screwed up a little.

you can just go to a dealership and get them to flash your pcm for different gear ratios.
i wouldnt pay more than $55 though.

gears, have to be set perfect, you cant do that without help
limited slip differential, take like 6-8 hrs to install by yourself, so do both, and get a shop to put both in at the same time

jet chip & hypertech arent as good as DHP tuner & HP tuners, but its apples to oranges

texas speed or thunder racing has a cover for us, but we dont really need it

i have 3.08s and hating every second of it. Ive heard 3.73 is good and works well with highway driving.

id say 3.73 and locker its a heavy duty lsd. 3.73 are a performance upgrade but not a racing only gear for us. i have 3.23 stock and desparatly want 3.73 myself i have an lsd but want a locker and if i get these i put the stocks in my 84' impala. trust me if you can get used to the rear end youll love it.

i have an m5 with 3.23 stock and im looking for a little bit more acceleration and more use of my 5th gear since i cant really use it under 55 without bogging down. i was thinking 3.42 or 3.73. would i notice much of a difference if i got a set of used 3.42 for cheap or should i just get 3.73? i do both highway and city so i want decent mileage all the way through.

a locker dose allow one wheel to move more than the onther on corners but in the straights you got power to both. its like a limited slip but with more grip in the straights

A locker drives the wheel w/ the most traction - on a turn that would be the inside (slower) wheel. When the wheels even out the the synchro locks it back up. 12secv6 talks about being unlocked on the highway, but I can feel mine kick coming out off the turn. It does take an adjustment to your driving, but you get used to it.
