Bleeding clutch solo?

is it possible to bleed the clutch hydrolics by myself.

i KNOW the fluid in there is from the factory and would like to replace it was nice brand new fluid...

-mighty vac
-bigger hose bige enough to go over the bleeder valve
-hose clamp


Clamp hose on bleeder, put other end of tube in fluid. put the nipple attachement on the mighty vac in the hole in the bottom of the resovoir.


suck fluid out, try not to take it over 25 ont eh guage, you will eventually suck the fluid up and out, and from the bottle of clean fluid under the car.


close the bleeder, you will still likely hae air in the line. Just mighty vac the the air out later don't take it past 25.


I suggest do it, drive a few days then do it again.


Tried something different tonight when it got to bleeding. I hooked mighty vac, pumped it up to 20, then put a rag over the resovoir. Then I drove around slowly and comfortably. The vacuum will make the clutch very "non grabby" so becarefule, drive around a little, let the car heat up. I think the clutch pedal movements, heat, and vibrations work the air out better then jsut normal mightyvac sucking it out.

OR you can just do it the normal way.


But prop a stick from the clutch to the front of the seat to hold it down, clumb under, open/close then come out and let the clutch come up, push it back down, prop it go back under the car and from then on out.

You might also try finding a way to attach a piece of hose big enough to fit the bleeder nipple and adapt to a shop vac somehow to suck all the fluid out of the system then poor new fluid in and slowly poor fresh fluid through the system. It could be done, somehow.
