Is my transmission DIEING ??

Today I Was driving for a change with the window's down and radio off. ANd noticed a whining kind of noice coming from the car when i accelerate. Now I believe it could be coming from the tranny but not sure. Someone please let me know. And the best way to possibly keep my tranny .

I have it in my car too. It's the rear end of the car. From what I understand it's quite common for our cars to have a whine in the rear end... to an extent. My car has less that 50k on it and has been doing it since I bought the da** thing. How many miles on the car? Last time changed diff fluid or checked it?

I have 139k on my car and I don't know the last fluid change i bought it at the end of June. Its actually my goal monday on my day to change out the fluids in the car as well change out the plugs and wires too. But I heard from a buddy that it is common for the rear end to whine like that. I thought when i heard it "CRAP MY TRANNY'S GOING". But I'll change out the fluid and see how it goes..

Changing the fluid will be good, just so you know where you're at with the change matinence. There really isn't a way to get rid of the whine though.. unless you dynamat the car. [img]smile.gif[/img]

I'm not worried about the whine in general i can deal with it for now Cause i'm changing the entire car this winter.. Whole rear end and a LT1 swap that i'm currently working as well tranny and clutch. I just want it to run until January when i get my month of vaction where I can redo the entire car.
