I found a carbon fiber drive shaft for a z-28 or ss camaro and I thought I remembered hearing that people can take the aluminum 1 off of a v8 and put it on a v6. Is this true? If it naturally does not fit can I get it fabricated so that it will?
it's made they say for strictly v8 but if it will fit I'll get it eventually. yea your car is nice too, I like the wheels! I can't wait to get my set of rims.
asumming that the shaft is stock length replacement then yes it will fit.. But who would spend 800 bucks on a carbon fiver shaft for a stock fbody? Make sure that it has the stock size U joints and length...
HBHRacing,I'm different than most people in my tastes with things that I buy and that explains why I'd pay so much for things like that. I always have my reasons.
1st It's lightweight
2nd I plan to do more engine modifications to make it one of the fastest v6 F-bodies eventually.
3rd (the crazy part)hahaha I'll do what it takes to get me to my goal. Flat out, that's me
Besides all that, thanks everybody for the compliments on my car

whats your goal?
www.turbov6camaro.com 1997 3800 Series II Camaro 4600 Stall for my ride to the mall :chug: 7.18 @ 99.77 1/8 -1.8x sixty (current quickest v6 fbod) 11.23 @ unk 5 1/4 - 7.19 1/8 - 1.83 sixty
no no, what I am saying is why would a V8 fbody spend 800 bucks on a driveshaft if his car was stock (IE took a stock sized driveshaft). Thats what you need to look out for. same size as stock and same u joints. I do not elive that a Carbon fiber shaft can be shortened..

HBHRacing, yea I'm going to check to see if that drive shaft is the same size. I think I see what you're saying. Why would they make a c.f.drive shaft for a stock camaro. I'll check on that. Thanks
It's your money, but I would say that's a little overkill. I just got a deal on one myself. I found a LS1 aluminum take-off with less than 15 miles on it for $140. I wasn't planning on getting one, but with a couple hundred dollars in my Paypal account, I couldn't pass it up.
I agree with these guys. Nice ride....that hood is just plain bada$$.
Sorry to just jump in here and take your post but I was going to ask the same question. I found an 02 SS take-off alum shaft that I want to get and was wondering if it would fit. They say that it is 41 inches from center of u-joint to center of u-joint. Thanks.
