  • My clutch is stiff.

    94 M5 camaro.

I got it in 2003 with 24k on it, I thought maybe it was stiff because it wasnt used THAT much, well I'm at 50k now and it's about the same.

I say it's stiff because I've driven a 2001 and it felt silky smooth compared to mine. And pretty much every other manual car I've driven, I wish I could "show" you how much force is needed, but my dad said it felt like a spring clutch VS a hydraulic one :(

Have you checked the Clutch Fluid, and when was the last time it was bled?

The next day that is going to be nice, bring your car down here to philly and I'll bleed the system. I'm almost positive that it will solve your problem.

Check the fluid though. Look under the hood, right behind the master cylinder on the driver's side firewall. There it a little round plastic reservoir that is white in color. It should be filled with DOT 3 (or better) brake fluid. If it's empty, unscrew the cap & fill it up half-way, then take the car for a spin. After you get back, check the fluid again to see if you need more.

It probably needs to be bled though. It's kinda like bleeding your brakes, but the bleeder screw is on the transmission.

In the little white cup, next to the master cylinder, the fluid is filled halfway with the cap off.

On another note, I'm low on brake fluid, pep-boys here I come.
