  • 95 V6 rearend to 98SS rearend

trying to work out all the bugs, has anyone done this? will the SS have traction control and prevent me from swapping rearends??

do all the brake lines still work??

did you swap the proportioning valve or is it the same?

It's not the TC but the ABS you will have a problem with. Your car has a single rear ABS sensor in the rear end. Most 98+ have two at the wheel. The ABS is a different manufacturer 93-97 and 98+. It can be done but it is not a "bolt-in".

Let's start with - why do you want a 98 SS rear end?

No you don't have to change out the ring. Rears either have single or dual channel ABS, that's it. And putting a dual-channel ABS rear on a single-channel car is not impossible, it's just not plug-n-play.

i went and looked at the SS rear and it had a single hose leading to the T in the hardlines

                      so will it work?

No. But not all 97- V6s came with rear disc brakes.

97- V6s had smaller rotors than 98+, but in the same year the size is the same.

                              Rear rotors:
                              93-97: 11.5"
                              98+: 12"

                              Front rotors:
                              93-97: 10.9"
                              98+: 11.9"
