We got everything together except the servo rention ring(?) it will not go in. how do we get that bastard in? despite ot getting it in we took the car out for a test drive and it will go into revers, netural, and first but will not shift past first. it is also leaking fluid all over the place with that sorvo not proprerly placed in. I am guessing it is the servo that is keeping it from shifting. help me fast!!!!!!!!!

take out the servo cover and make sure it goes in JUST right in the hole...I had the same problem with mine and the shop said it was b/c the cover was binded up in the hole. EVERYTHING MUST BE STRAIGHT!!! Also if your problem is the cover not going in at all get a pry bar and give it enough power to push the o ring in. Try lowering the tranny to give you more room. I told you the servo is a *****

well yesterday my cousin and myself pulled the transmission and threw it in the back of his truck. he took it home and started tearing it down. he hasn't gotten to the valve body and servo yet but he told me that the 4th gear clutch pack was burned out. well with 107K on the transmission I guess it was about time for somethign to give out. I guess the kit and servo was the straw that broke the camels back. the good news is that my cousin can get the rebuild kit for just under $100 so that'll be a real good deal.
