• are you happy with your shift kit?

Im highly considering getting the B&M shift kit (not the electronic one, the real shift kit) for my auto tranny. I've also looked at transgo, but they're a little more spendy. Whats the difference between the transgo and B&M?

So is there a big difference? Will it make my 1/4 mile times any better? Will driving be jerky to the point that it can be uncomfortable?

Thanks in advanced.

I really like my transgo kit. I also installed a corvette servo at the same time. I wouldn't say the ride is jerky, when it shifts you notice the torque a lot more, almost like a manuel...it lets off for a spilt second then slams you into your seat. I'd pick Transgo over B&M but thats just me.

Personally I wouldn't recomend it. I installed it and I regret it. I feel that the shift kit is not worth the money you will spend (around 300 with installation). The shift kit din't make my car any faster and I am tired of the hard shifting of the car while driving. I guess I should have reasearched more before instaling it. This is just my opinion. Read more about it before you decide anything.

Did you use the transgo or B&M kit?

Install the kit yourself and you save your self $200...I did the stage two shift and it only shifts hard at WOT

do you chirp your tires between gears with the stage two at WOT, or would that only happen with stage 3?

I bought a totally rebuilt tranny from someone on here, with a transgo stage II shift kit, vette servo and upgraded bands. I like it, doesnt really shift hard normally, only when WOT.
From a dead stop, WOT, it'll chirp second gear.

I don't know if they would chirp or not. I installed the kit the same time I installed my LCA's, Panhard Rod and Torque arm...I was firmly planted to the ground.

Not to sceare you but I installed my transgo myself along with the raptor servo and I am now having problems. I just got back a ferw hours ago from helping my cousin(a tranny mechanic) pull the transmission from the car. he is going to look it over this weekend to find the problem. I think the problem is with the servo. but the transmission also has 107K on it. it may just be at the end of its line. if so he also told me that he can get a rebuild kit for me for about $130 and do the work himself no charge other than parts

the kit itself was easy to put in however the servo was a *****. no room to work with unless you drop the tranny a few inches. I suggest you do the kit yourself and take the servo to someone else.

I love my shift kit, definite pull in the 1st to 2nd shift. I hit 4th gear at 110 at WOT now. That and the Vette Servo are really worth the investment if you want to firm up your shifts.
