I just bought a used 00 v6 bird for $6k. It has 80k miles on it, & is automatic. I test drove several other cars before I bought this one, and they did not seem to make this strange winding noise when I accelerate. It is not loud enough that I can hear it over the radio though, haha. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? My grandpa worked with transmissions at ford for his whole life and he said hes pretty sure it isn't the tranny.

My 02 also has a very slight turbo-type noise when accelerating. I think it sounds kinda cool. It's had it from day 1 so I'm not concerned. But mine comes from the engine area.2002 Silver Firebird A4
T-Tops, Leather, Y87, W68, Chrome Wheels
Bone Stock
