  • What stall torque converter to get?

My maro will have the gt cam ported and plished heads and intake and posi traction with 3.42's. I heard where its a good idea to upgrade the torque converter as well. What stall converter would be best with this setup?

What are the specs on the cam?

Who is doing your tuning (please tell me that you are getting it tuned)?

ditto. I have a 3000 stall and almost wish it was just a little higher. With the cam, I would guess 3200-3400. Get the car dyno-ed first, then talk to Andre at www.edgeracingconverters.com he will build one for your car.

Yes, a few dyno pulls once your setup is complete would be the best way to pick a convertor.

dyno first before you stick a verter that high in there. also think about what kind of manners you want it to have on the street.

you people have no idea how it will act. i get better gas mileage with my PI3500 stall than i ever got with the stock. they all drive just fine. takes 1 minutes to adjust to driving the car with the stall. hell my mother can drive the car wiht NO problem what-so-ever.

That's what I'm sayin. Ceaton has that cam and a 3200 stall and says he wished he wouldve gone bigger.

Generally speaking, you should choose a converter that will put you in the meat of your powerband when you launch. This is why you should have the car dynoed first.
