  • when doing clutch install....

well i have the next three days off to install my spec stage 3 clutch.. i have the new flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing and tranny fluid.

am i missing anything.. besides dot 3 break fluid for the clutch lines.

any good write ups online on a clutch install.. such as torque specs. easiest way about going about this installation?

is it best to take the transmission off WITH the bellhousing or tke if off the bellhousing first..then take off the bellhousing seperately?

i have three days to do this so i want to make sure i get it right the first time. I will be doing this install with a friend of mine in my driveway on our backs.

if someone can hook me up with a link with specifications such as torque specs that would be awesome. also if you have an install guide hook me up.

    thanks in advance

you cant take the bell housing off the tranny, unless you want to destroy your slave ($80).

            remove the DS first.
then the cross member get a jack under the tranny and remove the bell housing bolts, you need like 2 foot extension to get to the top 2. sldie tranny out remove clutch. remove fly wheel have it resurfaced. install clutch (15 foot-pounds and 30*) replace the TOB (you don't have to remove the slave, just push and twist and it should come off)

intall tranny 80 ft# i think it is.

this is onyl basic stuff but gives you a idea

Go out and buy a Hayes or Chiltons manual. It is arounf $25 and gives step by step instructions as well as all torque specs.

I just finished a Spec Stage 3 install and with the help of the manual, it went pretty well. You will have to remove the shifter and if you plan on removing the pilot bearing, you will need a special tool called a "Blind Hole Puller" I got a loaner from Auto Zone. If you have any specific questions, e-mail me. I can look up all your torgue specs if you want. I am at work now but can check tonight if you e-mail me.

              Good luck.
