i guess you dont have them.....get them and experience them before you bash them. I picked up about .35-.45 in the quarter going to 3.73/LSD. The speed limiter will be moved down to 100 unless you turn it off via tuning or HPP3. Acceleration will be better from zero to as quick as your car will go. Im also pretty sure if you did do a top end run you will run out of power before you run out of gear. You wont be disappointed.

anybody who comes on here and bashes 3.73s has never driven them.

the only place they'd hurt you is if you were going for the land speed record, which you won't be doing in a V6 f-body.

sorry guys, didnt really mean to bash the 3.73s but i do have a bit of experience with them, and i was not impressed with their top end, i have looked into getting some though, cause their acceleration is awesome compared to my 3.08s :(

only problem with them over 3.42's is if you do a lot of highway miles you could lose some mileage and even then it depends on your speed, what gear you are in and other variables. great for 0-60 though. I'm sticking with 3.42's because of all the highway miles i do otherwise 3.73's would be my choice. 4.10's are really just to much imho but thats just me.

i went from 14.9 @ 93 to 14.3 @ 95 going from an open 3.23 to an LSD and 3.73. i recommend these gears to anyone who wants them. they're great.

chadder:i wasnt directing anything towards u.
the point i was trying to make is that i've been researching gear choices for my car for between 6-8 months and in every thread some one is trying to say how cars fall flat on there faces w/ 3,73s and how 3.42s are soo much better.
i do very little hwy driving so i think that 3.73s are the way i am going to go

I do a ton of highway driving and with heads/cam I can still get around 26-27 mpg on the highway. When my motor was stock i got as much as 29.8 on the highway.
