I did a search, read like 25 posts, but I still didn't find my answer. I was wondering, is the Corvette servo the external servo? It is changable without removing the pan right? I'm just wondering if anyone has installed it, did it require draining the transmission? Thanks for any responses.

The vette servo is a dry install, you install it on the outside of the trans.
If it isnt, explain this to me?

Hey Cardinal, thanks, I figured it was the servo for the first two gears, I wasn't sure, and i hadn't checked at the shop yet(I work at a dealership in the shop). I'll install it as soon as it comes in the mail. It's easy, thanks for the link. I've changed a couple of those servos before, just never with the V8 servo install. I didn't know if it was that servo or the internal servo for the...2 to 3 shift I wanna say? Anyway, thanks again.

I've been looking into getting a corvette servo for my '96 but I'm kind of uneasy about it. The most technical thing I've ever done to my car involved taking the dash apart one time. I doubt something as important as my transmition is something a newbie like myself should be messing with. How hard would it be for like me and a friend to get this corvette servo installed? I've looked at the instructions and it looks like theres a lot of places where I could mess something up bad.. I don't want that to happen. Would this be something a shop could do and if so how much would it cost? I don't want to have to spend $100 to have something installed that I could have installed myself. Help is appretiated as I will be ordering this soon if I decide to get it.
