I went to 1-piece aluminum. The only difference I felt was the weight when pulling the old one out. ;) Performance-wise I felt more from a set of underdrive pullies.1994 Firebird 3.4
15.65 @ 86.8
funkz.net/firebird
Timeslips

I just swapped from a 1pc steel to aluminum, and even with a stock 1pc. I could feel an improvement in acceleration and response. I say do it.2000 3.8L Firebird, Silver Metallic

\"Yes, London. You know, fish, chips, cup o\' tea, bad food, worse weather, Mary f***in\' Poppins, London!!\"

Throttle response was better, that's about it. I did 2 piece to 1 piece aluminum. I didn't replace anything when swapping but the torque arm was a pita. Don't take the torque arm off unless you absolutly have to. You shouldn't have to replace anything unless the joints look in bad shape.\'99 SSM Camaro V6 M5
(mod list on cardomain site; too long to list here)
http://www.cardomain.com/id/v6cam99

There is NO reason to take the torque arm off. The top bolt for the bracket in the center of the 2-piece is a PITA to get on, but not nearly worth the hassle of taking the torque arm off.\'01 Mineral Grey SVT Cobra
-former F-body owner

Do it. Easy swap, just don't let the DS hit you, and if you can, lean the car forward, as you'll leak fluid out the back. I.e. jack the car up rear only, so you can spin the rear tires, etc.97 Camaro 3.8L M5
Car for saleterpmotors.com Terrapin Motorsports!
