y0 f00! ebay is your friend choice #A, or choice letter 2, call up all the junkyards in our area, MIGHT be able to find a rear outta a z28, but chances are the pickins are slim since that's most likely a hot item to shop for in the yards to other owners. just my .02
i drive a slow black neon w/ricey racing stripes;)

i'm looking for the same thing (my rear is having issues). The junkyards in my area dont have any right now so i'm hitting up ebay. what you need to look for is what differential they have in the rear (zexel or auburn, you want the zexel), what gears are in the rear (you probably want a rear with 3.42's), and if it has traction control (you dont want this, unless you somehow got a v-6 that was equiped with it). other than that just make sure it is in working order and the seller doesnt use turms like "sold as is". good luck.

the zexel doesnt use a clutch system to lock the two wheels together and are generally stronger and dont wear out as easily. i beleive all ls1 equiped f-bodies had the zexel where as the lt1's had the auburn. i couldnt tell you how to tell any other way from the outside of the rearend though.

Go to ebay, and look up the seller "FParts". He is located in Bristol PA, and allows pickup of the items he sells. He sells many of V8 rearends for camaro's and firebirds. I got mine there and I was (and still am) very pleased. If your car is between 93-97, then look for the rear within those years. If it's 98+, then look for the V8 for those years. The ABS sensor's are different as the 93-97's changed to the 98's +, and there are a few more differences too. They CAN be interchangeable, but it's a little extra work and extra money.

Ha - you beat me to it. If you want to contact this company directly, here is their website:

http://www.contemporarycorvette.com/

They don't have any info on the site about their F-Body parts, but trust me, they have tons in stock. Give them a call if you don't see anything you like on eBay.

Thats what I have on my car. Trans am, Z28 same thing, I have a 94 trans am, with 3.42 and posi. It is probably one of the best mods Ive done. ;)
