TCC Means- Torque Converter C? & What other mods with the Sonax TCC
TCC Means- Torque Converter C? & What other mods with the Sonax TCC
I Have the bad TCC Valve with the hard 1-2 shift. I know what I need to do to fix it. But I don't want to sound like a fool and call it a tcc valve, and when they go huh? not be able to explain that it is a torque converter c(?). Im sure they know what it is, but I don't want to look stupid.
While the pan is off and the valve body is out, I should have them put in new filter, fluid and what else?
go there and search in your state. But depending on how bad the problem is it can just be a $350 Sonnax fix for them or like in my case they wanted to rebuild the whole valve body for $1300. So instead of me doing that and getting same ****ty trans back just modified with aftermarket parts, my mechanic said he could put in this performance trans in my car, cuz he just put same one into his boss's vette. Would be $1100 for the trans, $500 labor.. but im gonna try to work off some of the labor price because my dad has to do some electrical at his house so im gonna help.

have you figured out what this "performance transmission" is that went into your mechanics bosses vette that will also work on your car and only cost $1000?

The vettes use the same 4l60e that is found in Camaros and Firebirds, they just use a different bellhousing. The trans in question is prolly a performance built 4l60e, although $1000 is pretty cheap for one.
i have no idea.. i havent directly talked to him about it yet cuz i dont have nearly that much money i mean i still owe $550 on my tires lol, but i hope to talk to him soon because my semester ends thursday and then my dad is gonna call him about the garage work.
