Manual transmission fluid swap...

Hey guys just did it, simple and straight forward. There was alot of confusing through my searches on where to find the drain plug but its clear as day as soon as you get UNDER the car, the stupid cat block most your view...

Best description is find 2 ridges about 1/4 in. apart and follow them up and they will lead you to the 2 drain plugs. I took some pics but not sure if they are worth hosting, if someone wants to know I will put it up if you have a problem finding the drain plug(peopel did in the threads I searched)

As for the filling procedure I cheated, I was installing a short stick on my shifter, and had the center console off so I decided pull the shifter and jsut fill it thorugh there. Was a cinch, and it slides inot the gears more easily.

Definitley reccomend it if you have some miles on your car.

dextron atf can last hella longer than your conventional gear oil.

haha ya the drain would be best located at the bottom.

None of our 5 speeds come with gear oil. Dex/Merc 3 is what comes from GM as well, and should be what goes in when changing it.
