    I just bouhgt a GM posi unit serie3 but my mechanic says a auburn is better if I want to put nitrous on it later on I going to set it up with a 373 ring and pinion. Will it hold What do you think.

    i've never had a problem with GM carriers...i did however chew up my stock 3.08 gears..that was almost 4 years ago...but never had a problem with that carrier..or my current posi 3 series [img]smile.gif[/img]

      the auburn pro would be better but the zexel should be fine. Dont get the auburn that came stock in earlier 4th gens.

          So your saying that this will work just fine it was taken out of a S10 and is i great condition

            GM doesn't make posi units, companies like Auburn and Zexel-Gleason do. Depending on the year S10 it came out of it is probably an Auburn unit. This will work just fine for a naturally aspirated V6, and should hold up fairly well even with a power adder unless you spend a good deal of time at the track. The Auburn units GM installed are not as good as the Pro series Auburn. If you're making enough power to start burning up differentials however you're probably making enough to warrant a 12-bolt rear.
