  • Need help...Transgo Install

I have a friend who is going to install a Transgo Shift Kit into his '96 V6 Camaro. Does he need to drop the transmission to do so? It looks like he will have to inorder to do the 2nd piston upgrade? Also, any additional tips or advice would also be appreciated.

there should be a video in the kit. I'm waiting on mine to come in, and fortunately, the tranny it's going in is sitting in the garage ready for it.

You don't have to drop the tranny out of the car just lower the back of it a little with a jack under the cross member. That's how I put my vette servo in. The rest can be done without lowering the cross member. To get the fist snap ring out to get access to the servo and piston use a large screw driver and wedge it between the trans tunnel and the tranny pushing the cover down. Use a small screw driver to pry the snapring out. The rear of the trans has to be lowered to get enough room between the tunnel and trans to get the servo and piston out.
