Ok, heres the deal... i badly want 3.42 instead of my 3.08's. I've heard there are a whole bunch of ways to change over, and ive heard a whole bunch of different prices... from 300 to a couple thousand. I'd rather not do any installation with the gears myself. What is the cheapest way to get the 3.42's? Im not worried about LDS or posi... just the gears. Any help appreciated!

with the bigger gears you are gonna want lsd. peglegging sucks, but especially with lower gears. you would most likely get too much spin on your one wheel to really get anywhere. that being said, the gears can cost anywhere from $50 to $300. depends on if they are new or used and what comes with them. sometimes you can get the bearings, races, choke collar, and shims with them, others you have to buy seperately. the installation cost can be anywhere from $300 to $1k. depends on if you know anyone. you could also buy a y87 rear end at a junk yard and swap the whole thing.you can\'t get off if you don\'t get on
