  • Transgo + daily driving?

    Hola mi amigos & amigas,
I did a search on the transgo to try and find some info on the daily driving aspect, without any luck. I was wondering what the stage 2 kit w/ vette servo is like in everyday driving. I live in miami with alotta traffic and I dont want this thing to be a pain is the bunghole.
Any info you have would be appreciated, Thanks

Trans-Go stage II simply shifts harder.

The easier you drive, or rather the easier your are on the throttle and at lower RPM - the shifts are still definately noticeable but not killer neck-snappers. Not with just 225 ft-lbs.

If won't harm your tranny daily-driving if that's what you're asking. It will do the opposite. It will help make it last longer because it engages the clutches and bands in a shorter amount of time. The quicker they engage the less heat they build up, the longer the tranny lasts.

I have a Trans-Go Stage II in both my Z28 (350) and my Mustang (302). Both will chirp second at anything past mid-throttle. You always feel the 1-2 shift regardless of RPM, that's going to be a given. The severity is quite substantial but you still feel it. But 2-3 can often go barely detected. I would imagine that on your tranny having an overdrive gear that I don't 3-4 would be even softer at 'daily driving RPM ranges'

Do you mean you didnt notice a change at all, or you didnt notice a big difference in daily driving?

I have a 98 daily driver with TransGo Stage 2 and the Vette servo. Like Bliggida said as long as you dont stomp on it when there is a lot of traffic it wont brake your neck but if you like to keep your foot down. As a daily driver you will hate it. If you do the TransGo when its time to shift to 2nd gear push the gas pedal about 1/4 other than that you will complain about your neck a lot.
