B&M Electronic Shift Kit Help

I did the search and read all about the pros and cons of the shift kit. It seems pretty even to me. Half say don't do it, it will ruin your trans, the other half says they have had no problems with it. I haven't put it on and I still haven't decided what to do with mine. I attempted to put it on, but stopped when the wires on my computer didn't match what the instructions said it should be. Has anyone put this on a 3.8 98 firebird before? My wires don't match up to the numbers that the B&M instructions says it should? Has anyone else had this problem?

look on the passenger side right by the window that box with all the wires coming out of it is the pcm. take a knife and cut some of the black tubing amd look for the correct wires. my works great on my 97 camaro.
