I had 3.23 gears and put 3.73 LSD and have so far knocked off .3 in the 1/4(16.595-16.296). I think I can get at least .2 more with better track prep. 60' has gone from a 2.486 to a 2.235.1994 Chevrolet Camaro 3.4L A4 (160hp 200tq)<br />2006 Nissan 350Z 3.5L M6 (300hp 260tq)

Motive gears!! My 3.73's make no noise.. In fact I could hear my stock 3.23's and now with the new gears they dont make a sound.. It all depends on the install and how many miles you put on them before you romp on it.. I put 400 miles just to be safe.. I heard my friends GM 3.73's and they would wind when cruising and downshifting.. Motive all the way..Do a search for motive gears on here and there are a couple sites were you can get them for 139.00.. As for time knocked off.. How good do you hook now?? When you get 3.73's you will be spinning a little more then you did.. With my stock 3.23's and my suspension mods I use to launch @ 2000rpms on the street without spinning on street tires.. Now with the 3.73's I can launch @ 1400rpms without spinning.. anything higher then that and I will destroy my tires.. I hear anywere from .1-.5 tenths off your time.. Cruising at 65mph my rpms are at 2350.. The gears will bump you up 300 rpms..Jeff ..

I made a switch to turn off and on my speedo.. It also shuts off the odometer.. I had the SLP recalibrater but it stopped working for some reason so I yanked it out..Jeff ..

People, just FYI, no gears make noise if properly installed. If they whine the lash is set incorrectly.
Whining is not condusive to having lower gears either.
Problem is, usually when people get gears they step up instead of down, going with lower gears. The fact that they are installed (incorrectly) and whine, people assume big gears or this and that brand whine. No, it has nothing to do with the company so long as they are not a bargain brand.
Bearings can also play a big role in gears that whine. Did on mine. No set of gears could have possibly been louder than what mine were (due to normal wear and tear, plus some neglect) those were factory installed, GM grade 3.23's.
4.88 gears will be just as silent as 2.73's, whether SLP, Motive, Richmond, Superior, GM whatever you choose.
I personally favor Richmond because of their quality and strength, as they are found in most race cars.<b>15.41</b> @ 89.80 & 15.45 @ <b>91.64</b>, 2.21 60ft, 3,440 raceweight, using <b>OEM</b> Equipment. <br />\'98 L67/M49 w/ 134,000 miles before spun bearing. \"<i>It\'s all stock, Baby</i>!\"
