Look on the passenegr side of the tranny...It takes a 3/8" ratcher to get it off and back on. There are two, one to drain and one to fill.

Does anyone have a good pic of this from the underside of the car? I am going to change my manual fluid out for some full sythetic and have not bothered to look under the car. Thought if someone had a pic it is easier to look at before hand. LOL ;)

Also is there a way we could archive stuff that is very specific as this thread is about locations of parts?

Thanks in advance guys! :D

I don't have a pic of it, but like OneQuickV6 said, it's on the pass side of the trans.
There will be a bolt that has a square opening that a 3/8 drive fits into. Make sure when you are re-filling the fluid, try to get the car as level as possible so you fill it correctly.

When did they start putting drail plugs in our trannies?
Mine didn't have one, My dad welded a drain plug right into the pan for me.

You've got an auto. Only the manuals have drain plugs.

Be ready for the fluid to come flying out when you remove the plug. It comes out alot faster than I expected. I had a jackstand in the way, so I ended up spilling some.

Ahh, I needed that!
When I first got into repairing cars one of my friends told me to check the fluid dipstick on his manual trans. I searched that car high-n-low and watched them jerks laugh their a$$'s off at me, until one guy felt bad and broke the news to me.

How much 75w90 does it take as well? I was not sure on how much? 4qt? 5qt? Can someone validate. Want to ensure I got plenty when changing it this weekend.

Thanks fellas! ;)

All 93+ rears (including V8's) have 3.5 pts of fluid

damn it. where were you guys when i asked this same exact question a few days ago. i had to fondle my tranny like a virgin to find the damn plugs.

anyway the plugs are easy to trace up. just look at the tranny from the passanger side and find the 2 ridges close together running the width of its "belly". then just trace up along those ridges and you find the plugs.

mine took a little less than 3.5 quarts of ATF.

as far as differential, i think its 1.75 quarts per the specs.

I think I bought 3 or 4 (maybe 5? not sure) quarts of ATF for the tranny, and 3 quarts for the rear end. I think I had 1 full quart left over for each of them, plus a little in the opened bottles. Just fill them until they begin to overflow. Let them finish dripping out and put the fill plug back in.
