I think I bought 3 or 4 (maybe 5? not sure) quarts of ATF for the tranny, and 3 quarts for the rear end. I think I had 1 full quart left over for each of them, plus a little in the opened bottles. Just fill them until they begin to overflow. Let them finish dripping out and put the fill plug back in.

I don't think you're supposed to buy ATF.
I was just there like 2 days ago and I think the ATF said it was for chrystler cars or Ford only.
Just get Dexron III with Mercon unless you do a COMPLETE flush and put in synthetic fluid. All of the synthetic fluids we looked at didn't recommend to mix the 2 together.Sinister Six©
My \'95 Bird
I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.

ATF just stands for Automatic Transmission Fluid. Dexron III/Mercon is just a type of ATF. Dexton III is ATF ;) . When I changed mine, it was before I found this site, and the dealer just said to put plain ATF fluid in.2003 Zinc Yellow Mustang GT 1 of 701
ET : TBD
But our shenanigans are cheeky and fun!
