my friends tranny in his 1999 blazer was acting up so i told him to come over so I could read the code that it was throwing. there were 2 of them. one was P0751 (shift solenoid A performance or stuck off). the second was code P0753 (shift solenoid A electrical). so im guessing that it is the solenoid that is the problem. I was just woundering if this was a hard thing to replace and how much it will cost. thanks.

It could be the solenoid, electrical connections, or the valve.
You can see the solenoid in this picture. It is the black thing towards the top middle of the screen with the green and pink wires running to it. You just pull the wire harness off, then pull the clip off of the solenoid, and pull the solenoid out of the valve body.
At least for the 4L60E in the camaro, the part number is 10478131 and is $11.26 at GMpartsdirect ($19.76 from the dealer). I don't know how much the wireing harness is, but I think it runs about $30 bucks.
I would pull the solenoid out, and if you hook up a wire to each terminal and touch it to your battery, you should hear it click. It is supposed to measure 20-40 ohms resistence across the two terminals, and is supposed to energize at 7.5 volts and above. If it clicks, I would replace the wire harness, and put it back together.
The valve itself may be shot, and then you would need the throttle body rebuilt which would run about $350.<a href=\"http://www.fatninjas.com/camaro\" target=\"_blank\">\'96 Camaro Convertible</a>
