tranny pan leaking

I have my bird parked in the garage at work and i noticed that there was a little reddish puddle under my tranny pan? I also see i a good size dent in the pan where the fluid is dripping.

where is the best place to get a pan from, and what kind of pan ( alum./steel)?

Also, do i need to be concerned about the shift kit thats installed or no?

Any help would be great

This happened to me a year or so ago.. I hit a wayward rock and dented the hell out of my pan--caused the front lip to bent and fluid to leak out. It's pretty inexpensive for a GM part--paid like $25 or so for mine at the dealer. Buy a tranny filter while your at it. Take it to a lube place, have them pump all the fluid out, remove the filter and pan, install the new one along w/the filter, and add new fluid. If you wait too long your tranny will start to slip, which is VERY annoying, not to mention bad for your tranny.. I believe the pans are steel--you want the metal to be as strong as possible, considering all the abuse this thing is gonna take sitting under your car--aluminum is too soft.
