I got this rattling noise coming from somewhere between the cat and muffler. I thought it was the heat shield and then tried tightening all those bolts and i still have this horrible rattle. Has anyone had this problem or have any ideas what it might be?

it could be the over axle pipe hitting the heatshield up there..
there are quite a few people that experience that knocking.
check it out..
i found out my rattle. its a damn washer on a bolt that is WELDED to the hanger. so i gotta somehow tape down that washer, or weld it to the nut. lol96 Camaro M5. Exhaust rattles are usually heat shields or clamps or hangers and are a pain in the butt to find and fix. Start at the front and check everything. Or take it to a big muffler shop and ask them to do it. In most cases they will do it for free (thinking they will get some work out of it if they find anything).Mike
2001 Camaro
Light Pewter Metallic Convertible
AU0,A31,C60,DG7,F41,GU6,K34,L36,M30,T82,T96,UN0
If it can\'t be expressed in figures, it is not science; it is opinion.
