  • Difference between these converters...

    This came up in the drag racing section, and I thought I would put it here...

    I decided to look at the converters on GM Parts Direct just for fun...

    Turns out there are two different part numbers for the V6 converter (I was searching for transmission parts for a 2000 Firebird)...

    24213396 V6, 3.08-1 Gear Ratio

    24213395 V6, 3.42-1 Gear Ratio

    Now what would the difference be here? And why do they list axle ratio in the description, unless 3.08 and 3.42 cars got different TC's?

    they probably did. I bet the 3.42 cars recieved slightly higher stalled converters.
