My friend’s tranny in his 1999 blazer was acting up so I told him to come over so I could read the code that it was throwing. There were 2 of them. One was P0751 (shift solenoid A performance or stuck off). The second was code P0753 (shift solenoid A electrical).
- So my friend and I got a new solenoid. We decided to test the wires going to it and we found a problem…
-
- Current configuration: Battery still connected, ignition off, trany in park, tranny wiring harness unplugged from trany only.
- Checking wire harness for shorts at pins A & N (troubled solenoid “A” 1st and 2nd gear).
Remember the other end of the harness is still plugged into the PCM. Pin A read opened and pin N read approximately 300K ohms. Should both have read open?
- Also checked resistance of the old solenoid and it was infinite or open and the new solenoid read 22 ohms. Does this sound correct?
