  • NEED HELP FAST DOING JOB NOW...PLEASE READ

My friend’s tranny in his 1999 blazer was acting up so I told him to come over so I could read the code that it was throwing. There were 2 of them. One was P0751 (shift solenoid A performance or stuck off). The second was code P0753 (shift solenoid A electrical).

    - So my friend and I got a new solenoid. We decided to test the wires going to it and we found a problem…
    -
    - Current configuration: Battery still connected, ignition off, trany in park, tranny wiring harness unplugged from trany only.

    - Checking wire harness for shorts at pins A & N (troubled solenoid “A” 1st and 2nd gear).
Remember the other end of the harness is still plugged into the PCM. Pin A read opened and pin N read approximately 300K ohms. Should both have read open?

    - Also checked resistance of the old solenoid and it was infinite or open and the new solenoid read 22 ohms. Does this sound correct?

measuring the resistance of the pcm's driver is pretty fruitless. it should be a fairly high value but i would expect infinite. checking each line for being shorted to ground is probably a good idea though. one might be a path to ground but the other shouldnt. anyway the 300k sounds good.

the coil on the solenoid should not be 0 or infinite. 22 ohms sounds like a normal value (its just a big spool of wire, it doesnt have much resistance).
