I purchased a set of used 3.42s from a 1LE for $17 with shipping. Shop around and be patient, and you should probably just get the rebuild kit for the rear end from SLP, that way you get everything you need (except fluids). The rebuild kit runs about $120, I think. Looking at the model years for the rebuild kit, it shows 1989-02 camaro and firebird, so I don't think the extra items listed will work with our rear-ends. That is, however, an assumption. Can someone with more experience chime in?

Yeah, the guy that was selling them got some Motive 4.10's, so he just wanted to get rid of them. Noone else posted a bid, so I got them for the starting bid of 5 bucks plus 12 bucks s&h. It also helps that he just said "stock" gears from a 1LE camaro. Too bad for the other people looking at the auction didn't know that 1LE maros came with 3.42s stock, mwahahah! :D

Just look for auctions like that, where noone is bidding, and be sure to email the seller and ask questions, make sure shipping isn't outrageous, and that they accept your preferred method of payment. Oh yeah, check their feedback too... ;)
