Dealer #1: "Won't do it. Too much liability w/ the warranty and PCM, etc."

    Dealer #2: Estimated 5.5 hrs @ roughly $400

Dealer #3: "Bring it down so we can take a look at it to see what's involved." If they don't know what's involved, I don't want them doing it.

Left a message w/ Dealer #4. We'll see if they call me back.

Should I stick w/ the dealers? Should I go to a private shop that a co-worker of mine deals w/ for his T/A? Opinions please and thank you.

I would stay away from the dealer... they charge too much $$$ and aren't necessarily better mechanics than anyone else.

Go to your friend's recommendation..somewhere that they take pride in their work if you can find one

I gave up on the gouging dealers a long time ago.

So I went w/ my co-workers recommendation, and I now have an appt. for next Wednesday. $250 installed. A little bit of a commute for me, but if this guy knows his stuff, then it's worth it. I'm gonna have to get fluffy involved.
