I waited until 52,000 to change my transmission fluid instead of changing it at 30,000 like your supposed to? It's burning like a mofo now.

BTW, what kind of fluid does the 4L60e require?

Well, how long do you want your tranny to last?
You can go to a jiffy lube place, or dealer and replace with the GM dextron 3 (I think)

I change my transmission fluid and filter every 30,000 miles which is what.....about every 2 or 3 years. Since I am able to change it myself, it does not cost that much. I used Valvoline Max Life Dextron 3 in the last change.

Someone asked me one time "Dr Todd, you good looking stud of a man, why do you change your transmission fluid soooooooo much?" I replied,"I can change fluid and filters myself but,I can't rebuild an automatic transmission."

i just got my fluid and filter changed at jiffy lube. along w/ a normal oil change, my bill was $110 bucks, and they used a lot of tranny fluid to fill it back up.
