  • Tranny Mount Help!!!!!

Ok, when I power shift 1-2 too hard, my car shudders and my stick bounces around alot.

Is my tranny mount broken? Should I just replace it or upgrade to, say, a 1LE mount? I DO NOT want to go poly, i want to stay rubber so my car doesnt shake so much.

Will a differnet tranny mount break my console? Ive heard of poeple with the 97+ consoles cracking the edge when they shift hard from 1st to 2nd...but I have a 96 which has a bigger bag with more room around the stick.

    Thanks guys

Just get yourself a shorter stick mod if you're worrying about cracking your console.

1LE's will be hard to come by at this point. Only shops that have them in stock will be able ot get them. At this point, you can't even get them through the dealers or SLP.

And are you going to keep those black pacesetter headers at $2XX????

I love my poly mount. I am in the process of making it set the tranny up higher though, it doesn't quite hit the console. But its close.

the shaking of the car has nothinig to do with the shifter. you need a poly trans mount, however you will need to do some modifying to your cross member to get it to fit.

What good does a poly mount do over rubber? Everyone says thats the ONE area where you should NOT use Poly.
