  • 3.42 Strange Gears & Zexel Torsen LSD

Learned today that this combination doesn't work. Seems the gears are too thick, and don't allow the little block for the LSD to slide into place. Anyone else had this problem? My options are either to get the Auburn differential, or stick w/ my 3.23's. Suggestions?

ack, dunno about strange gears but my OEM gears were fine. That sucks bro. You might want to try and get a second opinion.

If I hadn't attempted it myself, and watched the guy do the same, I wouldn't have believed it.

You have 3.23's, so the carrier is fine, its a series 2.

Not the carrier, the gear itself.

Machine the paddle till it fits. I took .0625" off mine to get the 4.11s in.

and that doesn't compromise the solidarity of the block?

Ok, so I've decided that I don't really want to shave the block for the LSD. I just have nightmares about it shattering or something. Is the problem that I have gears for a 2series? Is there a 2pc block for the Zexel? Someone help me out here.
