  • Dumb question, need quick answer

    If I purchase 3:42 gears from a 6-speed z28, they'll fit in my v6 automatic right?

Do you have a Manual or Auto?

Manual means you have 3.23's so you'll be alright on the carrier.

Auto means you have 3.08's and the carrier will not work.

      Check your RPO codes
      GU4 means 3.08's
      GU5 means 3.23's
      GU6 means 3.42's

I plan on going with the zexel lsd. I'll be going from 3:08 to 3:42, I know i have to have the lsd, abs ring, and all that other stuff. I just needed to know if I buy gears from a 6-speed manual will they fit in an automatic. They do right?

Hey, what's up? I answered your email. Just get the reluctor ring, don't worry about the other stuff. The shop will have what you need. Those kits are more for a complete rearend rebuild. The only thing the shop had to get for my install was a pinion seal, and I think a crush sleeve.
