Ok I bought my Bird about 4 months ago and I still do not know what gear ratio I have and I dont want to pop the rear cover to figure it out. Is there a code some where that tells me what ratio I have. On my Blazer it tells me I have 4.10's but I can find anything like that only a bunch of codes. I have a 2000 Bird with a Auto tranny and of course V6 any help would be great.

Either 3.08 or 3.42
Check the glove box or driver's door for your list of RPO codes.
GU4 or GU6
Another way involves jacking up the rear with the car in neutral. Count how many times the driveshaft spins for one complete revolution of the wheel(s). You should be able to estimate it close enough to know which gear you have. (ie. ~3½ times around = 3.42)1994 Firebird 3.4
15.65 @ 86.8
funkz.net/firebird
Timeslips
