  • Power steering pump...

Mine has a minor leakage. What is the cost to buy a new one and replace it? Is it PITA to install?

not exactly sure how much mine cost, but if I remember correctly, it was about $70 and the core charge @ pepboys.

It's not really that hard to install @ all. Took a couple hours. You just gotta make sure that you do it right and get all the air out of the system after you install the new one.

It requires you to take off the pulley on the current power steering pump (you can have them do it where you buy a new pump @, otherwise you'll need something to get the pulley off with).

I got a pump for 50 bucks + core at AutoZone.

I made a page that has a few pictures of what the install is like.

You don't need to replace the pump. It's just the seal inside the where the pulley goes into the power steering pump housing. I have the part# right here-26043126. I still have to put mine in. Mine leaks but not bad. My neighbor works for a Chevy dealership and got me the part. They'll charge you for a new power steering pump when all they do is replace the seal. Just remove the pulley with a puller, run a self tapping screw into it(the seal) to make it come out, clean the area, install the new seal and replace the pulley. You will need power steering fluid also.
