  • Shiftronic for autos...

Don't know if this is of any interest to anybody but http://www.levelten.com/store/gm/ite...shiftronic.htm says it works for all electronically controlled trans. Has a torque converter lockup and you can control shift firmness, I think it would be a nice thing to have. That place also sells beefed up 4L60E's and kits to improve the tranny you already have.

    minus the price...OUCH

My friend with a third gen has a semi-manual valve body setup with his tranny which is just about the same (for much less). Basically he has the (D), D, 2, 1 setup on the shifter. If you leave it in (D) it shifts like normal but if you throw it in D, 2, 1 it automatically throws it and holds it in those gears IMMIDIATELY (D = 3). He actually almost stalled it once by throwing it in D (3) at 10mph...lol. Only auto where it's OK to have a shift light. BTW, his car has so much power he chirps the 2-3 shift.

I like some of the 4L60E parts, but man, things are expensive over there.

A buddy of mine did that on his 2000 stalled WS.6 and it was a full manual valve body where it never retained funcitonality (must always shift it manually). So I would assume the answer is yes.

          ...or just read here.
