My gears are shot( read post in general tech)
am I getting screwed here? the guy told me that there was a lot of play in the ring and pinion..therefore i need new everything...ring and pinion, whole new kit, bearings, gaskets, seals..the works.
This guy wants to charge me for :
new gears $ 275.00
new kit $ 175.00
new posi carrier $275.00
labor $420.00
I bought everything except a new carrier from summit for 300.00
Does this make any sence why the guy said i need everything new b/c of play? I asked him what condition was everything in, and he said he didnt take anything apart yet [img]graemlins/bs.gif[/img]
Also would a new cover help keep everything intact better? I think im going to order everything from summit along with a cover for the gears. But only if it does anything other thatn look good.
