I did alot of research and considering the street edge converter w/lockup from edge converters. I was thinking about a 3400 stall. Is that about right with 3.42 gears? Also looking into the transgo shift kit (stage 2) with corvette servo from kdsperformance for only 105. Opinions appreciated.

Hey, shortdog. I ordered a "Street Edge" 2800 stall with lockup. You gotta have lockup, and they're lockup works smooth as factory or better. They told me it turned out to be 2870 true stall 2.33str, 97% efficiency. It flashes between 3100 and 3200 rpm. Very streetable. My shifts are the same as they were prior to install, not soft or muddy. May be the jet chip fixin' that though, I don't know. At first I thought that the converter was somewhat loose, but it turns out that the shop unhooked my battery for some reason. Once the fuel maps readjusted, I cannot really perceive any significant looseness (if any). Car sure accelerates good! Great converter! I'm lovin' it. Gotta learn how to use it at the track.

I was scared of this, ok i think its only4u who has the 3600 stall like i do. well if you order a 2800 and it actually fashes 3100 thats 300 rpm off, could this be why only4u isnt having as good of a track time or reduction in et as slacker69? because slackers is advertised 3000 so probably flashes 3300, man i hope this 3600 doesnt flash close to 4000 i will be so upset :(

malloynx, did you switch converters? It's showing in your sig that you have the Yank converter.

Out of curiousity, why did you switch converters? Also, what's the stall torque ratio you have?

Though I haven't driven Evan's car, I think that the converter he has is too big for a "street" setup. No offense Evan.

Think about it. On a stock converter, you can spin off the line if you flash it. Evan has 3600 2.6x STR. There is no way you can flash that converter on a street setup. The only way that he or even I would be able to realize the full potential of our converters is to run with beefed up drag suspension. I mean slicks, LCAs, torque arm, you name it. Not to leave out great track conditions. He's gonna have to roll into the throttle. I learned that at SLP on Saturday.

As far as the stall speed being a little high. That seems to be common with most people with high stall converters on this board.

I will most likely be spraying in the future, so that's why I'm thinking between a 3000-3400 stall.

Ok, I justed talked with Andre at Edge. I told him I have 3.42s with lsd and wanted my car streetable with not much topend loss. I also mentioned I'll most likely be spraying in the future 100 shot tops. He recommended the street edge 3200 stall with 2.5ish STR and 96-97% eff. will be the best overall choice for my application. Does that sound about right?
